Everwind does not have a story yet, so right now it’s basically like Minecraft, but your base is a ship and you fly around with it.

There’s combat, there’s loot, and yes, there are dungeons. Everwind’s mechanics work well, and the whole thing is really promising. Still, in the current state of the game, most gamers will really miss some kind of reason to play. The building area for your flying base is too tiny to make base builders happy, the islands are too generic to entice explorers, and combat is too simple to carry the game on its own. This is the nature of Early Access, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but anyone expecting something that really hooks them through story and content will be disappointed. Give it some time, though—the potential is absolutely there!

The gameplay is phenomenal, the building systems are very self-explanatory, and the atmosphere captures that pirate treasure vibe without overtaking the game. The music, whether during battles or while simply relaxing, really helps set the mood and tone. The islands feel very alive, although they could use a little more structure and more things to explore. For example, surface islands at normal sea level could be massive and focused on challenging dungeons with dragons, lions, or other special creatures. The game just came out, and it’s already awesome with good developer support. The future looks very promising, especially for those looking to create memorable adventures with friends.
