Cursemark is a Hack, slash game and lets you cast your way through a kingdom brimming with secrets where no two builds are ever the same.

As a cursed mage-knight you will unlock devastating spells, equip ability transforming runes, and reforge your curse on the path to victory or death in this fantasy action roguelite. Intense melee and spellcasting combat, near limitless build diversity, and dark mysteries to solve. Forge your path as you explore the Unknown Lands in Cursemark, a fantasy action roguelite. Cursemark has a very interesting premise, and on top of that, it features some absolutely beautiful pixel art. The art direction is easily one of the game’s strongest points. Every environment, enemy, and effect has a lot of personality, and the overall aesthetic gives Cursemark a unique charm that keeps players engaged from the very beginning.
When first starting the game, it’s very easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of shrines, unlockables, and different systems available from the beginning. Fortunately, the game does a good job of guiding players toward what they should focus on, so the progression feels natural and rewarding rather than frustrating. As Cursemark progresses, each run feels worthwhile because something new is constantly being unlocked or meaningful progress is being made in Cursemark. One of the strongest aspects is the build variety. There are many different ways to approach the game, and experimenting with different combinations is genuinely fun.
The decision to randomize the runes in every new playthrough is especially effective, since it forces adaptation and prevents every run from feeling exactly the same. Finding a strong combination and gradually realizing that a build is coming together is always satisfying. Another element that keeps players engaged is the number of secrets hidden throughout Cursemark. Curiosity is consistently rewarded, and Cursemark does a great job in that regard. Discovering hidden areas and unexpected rewards provides a strong incentive to keep exploring and encourages “just one more run” repeatedly.
There are also a number of novel ideas for how skills upgrade throughout a run. Skill alterations can even be modified further by combining two socketables, making the discovery of new combinations across different runs especially rewarding. The enemy design is one of the game’s standout features. There are no generic “meat sack” enemies that simply absorb damage and die in a single hit, which are so common in many ARPGs. Instead, there is a wide variety of enemy types, each with distinct identities and recognizable attack patterns. Every enemy type can also appear as an elite with enhanced attack patterns that remain true to the flavor and identity of the original monster.

Features of Cursemark:
- Pathfinding is a part of your build as well. Discover permanent shrines and forges that expand your power and rune slots. Upgrade them for future runs and target the blessings best suited to your build as you grow in skill and knowledge.
- The Unknown Lands are vast, full of secret passages, hidden relics, and strange sights. The world unravels more and more with each run as you make new discoveries and solve riddles to unlock power and shortcuts. No map-markers, no hand-holding.
- Define your build and playstyle with runes that change how every ability works by integrating them into your attacks, spells, wards, and ultimates. Add chain lightning to your sword and burst enemies into poison clouds.
- Multiply your fireball spell and erupt ice pillars from the ground when you cast it. Blind enemies and heal yourself when they strike your ward. The possibilities feel endless.
